I’m personally a fan of the Zephyrus G14, but if 14 inches is a tad too small for you, the Zephyrus G16 line might be a better pick for you. Just like the Zephyrus G14 got a refresh, the G16 did too, and it’s looking amazing.
ASUS has just announced that the ROG Zephyrus G16 refresh, one of its latest gaming laptops, is finally available for purchase. The laptop is more than just an oversized Zephyrus G14—it has way better specs. It features Intel’s Core Ultra 9 285H processor and up to an RTX 5090 Laptop GPU. Its 16-inch OLED display has a 240Hz refresh rate and a 2560 x 1600 resolution, so it will keep your games looking crisp. The G16 offers up to 64GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 2TB of storage, with additional SSD slots if you wanna expand it. It weighs 4.3 lbs and it’s 0.69 inches thick, but despite what its size might suggest, it packs a hell of a kick.
As far as connectivity goes, we have support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. The G16 includes one Thunderbolt 4 port, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, and an HDMI 2.1 port. The inclusion of Thunderbolt 4 is a notable addition, since the Zephyrus G14 lacks this—Thunderbolt tends to be an Intel-only addition, so since this laptop has an Intel CPU, it’s not exactly surprising to see. We have a 1080p IR webcam for all camera and video calling needs. The laptop also packs a 90Whr battery and is powered by a 240W AC adapter.
This laptop was first introduced during the last CES 2024 conference, and we knew pretty much everything about it already. It was announced alongside the Zephyrus G14, which is personally my favorite compact gaming laptop. This one isn’t that compact, with a 16-inch display, but it still manages to be pretty slim, considering the insane specs it packs inside. Some laptops out there are actual heavy monsters that barely qualify as a laptop, for what it’s worth, so a laptop that packs an RTX 5090 and still weighs under 5 pounds is pretty significant.

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 is available now on retailers such as Best Buy. It starts at $2199.99 for the lowest configuration with an RTX 5070, and it can go up to a whopping $4599.99 for the version with an RTX 5090 and 64GB of RAM. The base model might be fine for most people, so that’s probably going to be the most popular model here.
