Using Google Fi on an iPhone has never been as seamless as on Android phones, but it’s about to get much easier. The carrier is finally bringing voicemails right to your iPhone’s native Phone app—no more hopping between apps.

For a long time, the voicemail experience for Google Fi users on an iPhone was a bit of a headache. You’d get a notification, then have to open the separate Google Fi app, navigate to the voicemail tab, and then you could finally listen to your messages. It was clunky, inefficient, and honestly, pretty annoying, as my wife has often told me. Announced in a Community Forum post, that’s finally being fixed.

Here’s what’s changing:

• Unified Voicemail Management: All users can play, share, and delete voicemail messages directly through their device’s Phone app.
• No More Duplicate Notifications: You’ll no longer receive duplicate voicemail notifications from both the Fi and Phone apps.

The change, which started rolling out earlier this week and should be fully implemented by July 2nd, means all your voicemails will now appear directly within the native Phone app. This is a massive quality-of-life upgrade, especially for those of us who appreciate the simplicity of having everything in one place. As The Verge points out, you may have seen some voicemails sneak into your Phone app before this. That was a rare occurrence, only happening if you had Live Voicemail enabled, your phone was on, and you were within Fi’s service area. Now, it’s the standard.

There’s a small catch, though, and it’s an important one. Google plans to completely phase out voicemail in the iPhone Google Fi app by August. So, if you have any voicemails you want to keep, you absolutely must download them using Google Takeout before August 13th. After that date, they’ll vanish from the Fi app forever.

This move has been hinted at for a while, with Google teasing the change back in April when they also announced a more budget-friendly Google Fi Unlimited Essentials plan. It’s a welcome improvement that makes the Google Fi experience on iPhone feel much more integrated and, frankly, just better.
