When we first reviewed the Sonos Ray it was actually priced at £279, but it seems to have a had an official price cut that’s dropped it to £199, so now you can save even more money.
Back in 2022 we gave the Sonos Ray 4.5 stars in our review, commenting that it did a brilliant job of improving the sound of a small TV with audio that’s clearer and more dynamic, with a decent helping of bass for a soundbar of its size.
It’s worth noting that the Ray doesn’t have an HDMI input, featuring a digital optical connection. That makes it perfect for connecting to older TVs that don’t have a HDMI connection; or if you have a TV that just supports standard Dolby Audio and DTS soundtracks, this soundbar would be a good choice.
There’s Wi-Fi support which allows the Ray to connect to other Sonos devices through the Sonos app. There’s a variety of music streaming services supported within the app which includes Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Amazon Music, and Qobuz. It also has AirPlay 2 if you want to stream direct from an iOS device.
For those who enjoy their privacy, there’s no built-in microphones for voice assistants, which means you can’t set up Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant on this soundbar even if you wanted to.
The Sonos Ray is an excellent little soundbar, and this Prime Day deal bags you a big discount on it. It’s a Prime Day you won’t want to miss out on.
