That guitar and I, we’ve been through some things.First was getting the wife to OK it. Man, that was a fight, She didn’t understand the “new, but looks abused” part. I don’t know what she has against authenticity. Then the UPS guy just leaned the box up against the door on a hot summer day. You can’t imagine how nervous I was that some damage may have occurred. I filmed the unboxing ceremony from two camera angles. I showed it to the guys that used to be my friends. They didn’t say anything or respond to my repeated texts.I’ve been playing this guitar like a madman the last two years. At least 5-10 minutes at a crack, sometimes as much as twice a week. It’s just dripping with tone.I did have a bad moment. My toddler knocked it off the guitar stand because she doesn’t respect artistic implements. At first I had trouble remembering which finish gouge was authentic and which she f(#&*ing put on MY guitar. I’m going to send this thing into a skilled repair shop that restores vintage instruments to get the mar fixed.I’ve been talking to some other guys on FB. We’re going to get a band together. Some of them have amps, which they said that maybe I could use when we practice. We’re all lead guitarists by nature and training, so we’re going to have to see who’s going to settle for holding down the rhythm section. I purposely only know two chords, just to make the argument that my lead chops are far better. They’re the focus of my studio recording sessions, after all.
