OnePlus is a fan favorite when it comes to smartphones, and its watches are quickly gaining the same attention. The OnePlus Watch 3 came out earlier this year with plenty to offer, but the company has just fixed our two biggest complaints by releasing a newer, smaller variant.
If you want a watch with seriously good battery life, you’ll want to consider the OnePlus Watch 3. In our review, we said that it showed us that smartwatch battery life doesn’t have to suck. It’s one of the best watches on the market, but has a few drawbacks.

No more nightly charging routine.
Our two biggest complaints about the excellent OnePlus Watch 3 were the sheer size and weight. It’s a big, fancy, feature-packed, and heavy watch. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, and some people want a model with all the bells and whistles. However, we have good news if you want a OnePlus watch that’s a bit smaller to fit your wrists, or something not as heavy.
This week, OnePlus announced two new phones, a tablet, some earbuds, and a new, smaller 43-mm OnePlus Watch 3. And while we don’t have all the details yet, OnePlus will formally share more details at a summer launch event on July 8th. At the event, we expect to hear about everything on the inside, what it’ll have to offer, pricing, and a release date. For now, just know a better and smaller watch is coming.
The current OnePlus Watch 3 has a large 46.6mm front, a rotating crown button, and a pretty unique (if not chunky) design. We didn’t think we’d get anything else until the Watch 4 in 2026, but luckily for us, a smaller OnePlus Watch 3 (43mm) will be available sometime this summer. Here’s what the company had to say:
“In February this year, we launched our latest flagship wearable, the OnePlus Watch 3. It was highly popular due to its huge battery life, accurate GPS, and health and wellness metrics. We’re bringing a smaller iteration of this device that’s perfect for those with smaller wrists…but don’t underestimate it. This watch is packed with specs that rival the full-sized version, as well as exclusive monitoring features not found on any other device, and will be available in sleek Silver Steel.”
As you can see, OnePlus is hyping up this smaller watch quite a bit. It sounds like it’ll have some all-new monitoring features, and at least initially, it’ll only be available in one color variant. Hopefully it still packs excellent battery life, but we’ll have to wait and see.
For those curious about what to expect on July 8th, OnePlus will unveil five products: the OnePlus Watch 3 43mm, the OnePlus Nord 5 and OnePlus Nord CE5 phones, OnePlus Buds 4, and the OnePlus Pad Lite. We’ll share all the news as it arrives next month.
