President Donald Trump’s tariffs continue to cause mayhem upon the gaming industry, disrupting the global economy in the process. As a result, various gaming companies have cranked up their prices, pushed back pre-orders, and even increased how much subscription services would cost players—we’re looking at you, Nintendo, and Sony. But they’re not the only companies that have responded to Trump’s tariffs.
Anbernic has decided that it will no longer ship its products to the United States due to tariffs. The company released a statement regarding its decision, stating that things may change in the future, but as of right now, the U.S. would be excluded from their business plans.

Anbernic Reacts to Global Tariff Showdown
If you’re unaware, Anbernic is a company that was created in 2017 and has thrived in creating Android-powered devices. Anbernic prides itself on keeping the classics alive, releasing around 4-5 models of their nostalgic handheld devices yearly since their inception in the late aughts.
Now, for the matter at hand.
The company issued its statement on Monday (April 21st) on their website, detailing the reasoning behind the decision. Anbernic updated its shipping policy to reflect moving away from the United States market to avoid Trump’s tariffs. Anbernic’s products are shipped from China to America using 4PX, and delivery time typically takes 7-20 days.
That’s no good, considering that Trump’s tariffs on China have reached 145%, per CNBC, and have shown no sign of descending anytime soon. The company, aware of these challenging conditions, released its statement, saying:
“Due to changes in U.S. tariff policies, we will be suspending all orders shipping from China to the United States starting today. We strongly recommend prioritizing products shipped from our U.S. warehouse, which are currently not affected by import duties and can be purchased with confidence.”
The statement continued, asserting that they would keep a close eye on things to monitor what happens next. If things were to settle down some, the company insisted that they would “promptly inform our customers and publish our revised policy on the website.” Anbernic then signed off with an apology.
It’s Not Just Anbernic That’s Reacting to Tariffs
Anbernic is just the latest company to issue a response to Trump’s chaotic implementation of tariffs. Nintendo previously had to push back its United States Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order window to Thursday (April 24th) following the wrath of the tariffs. Switch 2 accessories have also received various price increases, including the new Switch 2 Camera being listed at $55 instead of the original $50 price point, the Pro controller receiving a $5 increase from $80 to $85, and an extra pair of Joy-Con 2 controllers being listed at $95 instead of the initial $90 price tag.
