These 8 Free Multiplayer Browser Games Are Too Fun to Miss Out On

Fortnite is one of my all-time favorite multiplayer games. However, there are times when I feel like taking a break from such resource-demanding games and spending some time playing browser games instead. These are nine free multiplayer browser games that I usually play to relax my mind during those moments.

Krunker.io

Krunker browser game.

If you like games like Counter-Strike, then you’re definitely going to love playing Krunker. Launched in 2019, Krunker is a popular multiplayer game developed by Yendis Entertainment. Your objective in the game is pretty straightforward—use your weapon to kill your opponent.

There are multiple modes available in the game. In most of these modes, the team with the highest number of kills wins the match. However, in other modes, you have different objectives. Some require your team to capture flags, while in another mode, you’ll have to control various objectives to win the game.

My personal favorite is Hardpoint game mode, in which your team is required to properly control the objective zones to defeat the enemies.

Shell Shockers

Shell Shocker browser game.

Developed by Blue Wizard Digital, Shell Shockers is a free egg shooter browser game. The game has four different modes–Captula the Spatual, Teams, Free for All, and King of the Coop.

While all the modes are unique in their own way, you’ll often find me playing the King of the Coop mode. In this mode, your objective is to capture the coop. The team that completes five captures first wins the match.

That said, you can choose from a long list of weapons for your egg assassin to eliminate your eggy friends. Shell Shockers also allows you to decorate your character with different accessories, such as hats and stamps, to give it a unique look.

Venge.io

Venge.io browser game.

Venge.io is a fast-paced first-person shooter game that you can play for free in your browser. Your objective is to defeat enemies and acquire cards and powers from them.

Before starting the game, you need to choose a character. I recommend spending some time selecting your character, as each one has a unique special power. I always play as Lilium because I really like her melee abilities and her skill in managing grenades.

You’ll also be asked to select a weapon before jumping into the game. There are eight weapons to choose from, which include the Scar, AK-47, M4, shotgun, LMG, SMG, sniper, and pistol.

Furthermore, the game offers four different modes—Sierra, Mistle, Tundra, and Temple. I personally prefer playing Tundra, which is a gun game mode where the player who uses all the weapons from the arsenal first wins the match. You’ll be given a new weapon with each kill.

5

War Brokers

War Brokers browser game.

As you can guess from the name, War Brokers gives off the vibe of a war. Unlike many other first-person shooter browser games, War Brokers requires you to make a lot of tactical decisions to win. The best part of the game is that it offers more than 30 maps to choose from. Additionally, you will find an equal number of weapons available in the game.

War Brokers features four main game modes—Classic, Battle Royale, 4v4, and Survival. Interestingly, each game mode includes a variety of sub-modes, so you will always have something new to play. Furthermore, the game also offers 13 armored vehicles that you can use to destroy your enemies.

As a heads-up, War Brokers is also available on Steam; however, it is in the early access phase at the time of writing. So, if you prefer to play the game on your computer instead of through a browser, you can download the Steam version.

Skribbl.io

Skribbl.io browser game.

When I get bored of using guns to kill enemies in the game, I switch to Skribbl.io, which is one of the best Wordle alternative. It was one of those games that I played a lot with my friends online during the coronavirus lockdown. The best part about the game is that you can play with your friends or even join a random game to play with strangers.

Your objective in the game is to guess what other players are drawing. With each correct guess, you earn a point. The player with the most correct guesses wins the game.

Skribbl.io also has a messaging feature, which means you can interact with your friends while playing to make things more interesting. However, make sure not to spoil the game by helping others guess the drawing.

3

Gartic Phone

You can consider Gartic Phone as an updated version of Skribbl.io. Let’s say you’re playing the game with five friends. The game will send a random prompt to the first player, who must draw it within a certain time limit. The player can use various tools and accessories to make the drawing more relevant to the prompt.

Once the player has completed the drawing, or the time has run out, the drawing is sent to the next player, who needs to describe the drawing as accurately as possible using text. Then, the following player will receive the text description from the previous player and will have to draw it as accurately as they can.

This process continues until each player has either drawn or described. Once that ends, the game reveals the actual prompt along with the drawings and descriptions that the players have entered, leading to a hilarious comparison between the original prompt and the final drawing by the last player.

Smash Karts

Smash Karts browser game.

I spent a lot of time playing Mario Kart during my childhood. If you’re like me and love kart battle games, I highly recommend trying Smash Karts. To win the game, you need to destroy other players’ karts using weapons that you can pick up by driving over boxes scattered throughout the game.

The game also allows you to customize your kart and character to your liking. Additionally, there are various tokens and gems that you can use to purchase different in-game items.

The best part about Smash Kart is that, in addition to regular maps, the developers frequently add new content during special events. Furthermore, new maps are made available during festive seasons like Halloween and Christmas.

1

Tough Love Arena

Tough Love Arena browser game.

Developed by Paul and Amy, Tough Love Arena is an indie fighting game that offers both offline and online gameplay. There are six characters to choose from, with each having their own special light, heavy, and jumping attacks. Furthermore, every character has a unique special move that you can use to deal brutal damage to your opponent.

You’ll have to deplete your opponent’s health bar by landing various attacks to win the battle. What I like most about the game is that, unlike many others, even defeating the CPU in Tough Love Arena is quite challenging.

That said, the game is also available on Steam. The benefit of the Steam version is that it allows you to play the game even without an internet connection, unlocks all skins and characters from the start, and loads much faster than the web version.

These are some of my favorite free-to-play multiplayer browser games. However, it’s important to note that since all these games are multiplayer, you need to ensure you have a stable internet connection. Having a weak or unstable connection may result in low FPS, which can eventually cause you to lose the game.
