2025 Kia Seltos

Mazda has been slowly but surely moving more upmarket. The CX-30 shows that they definitely have what it takes to succeed in this task. It is a sporty subcompact SUV with standard all-wheel drive and classy interior design. Despite this, it manages to stay competitive price-wise.

2025 Ford Bronco Sport

Starting MSRP: $29,995

There are few compact choices that are able to compete with the Bronco Sport in terms of off-road prowess. While it may not be as rough and ready as the regular Bronco, it can definitely tackle some tough terrain. It is also super versatile and reliable, with a practical interior meant to maximize cargo.

2025 Subaru Solterra

Subaru

Designed alongside the Toyota bZ4X, the Subaru Solterra is the Japanese brand’s first dedicated electric vehicle. While it may fall short when it comes to range and charging speeds, it features an upscale interior, standard all-wheel drive, and more of an ability to go off-road than most of its rivals. Usually, turbocharged inline-six engines can be found in vehicles from the likes of BMW, Mercedes, and Land Rover, but here one is in a Mazda. Its cabin is truly serene, and if you removed the badging you would assume it was built by a luxury brand.

The EV6 is one of the quirkiest and most enjoyable EVs to come to market.
