After well over a year in beta mode, Meta has finally released a dedicated WhatsApp iPad app.
While previously you needed to engage in a workaround to get your chats loaded onto your iPad, which didn’t support audio or video calls nor provide notifications of new messages, the WhatsApp iPad app offers a more seamless experience.
Not only does the iPad app allow you to make calls with up to 32 people, using both front and back cameras, but you can also share your screen too. You can also take advantage of iPadOS’ multitasking tools such as Split View and Slide Over which allows you to view multiple apps simultaneously.
To help guide you through, we’ve detailed the steps on how to use WhatsApp on iPad below. Plus, to make sure you never miss a message again, visit our how to use WhatsApp on desktop guide too.

To turn on, turn off or control WhatsApp notifications, you’ll need to enter your iPad’s Settings app and tap on Notifications. From here, scroll down the list of applications until you see WhatsApp and adjust accordingly.
